Groomers! I Said "Groomers"!

Words mean things

My honeymoon with Twitter these past few months may soon be drawing to a close. In recent days the microblogging site has apparently cracked down on the use of the word “groomer”. Which has come to mean pedophiles brainwashing children into becoming potential targets for exploitation. Leftist activists claim that it’s a slur against homosexuals and transsexuals and should be banned as “hate speech”. Never mind that it can also mean things like dog groomer, “good grooming” etc.

It’s already verboten on Reddit: a site that for whatever reason I can’t remember looking at much less participated on. Maybe it had something to do with Reddit shutting down a subthingy in support of Donald Trump. So much for being a free and open forum of discussion and dialogue…

Back to grooming. I have no problem at all with using this word in referring to adults who introduce children - who are WAY too young for such concepts - to sexuality in general and the LGBTwhatever “lifestyle” in particular. Because “grooming” kids is exactly what is transpiring.

Sexuality is a necessary component of the human condition. It is one of the most significant bonding agents between man and woman. Husbands and wives complement each other biologically. They also have the capacity for reproduction.

Homosexuality, transsexuality et al. are violations of this natural order. Yet some of them share - or are capable of sharing - the desire to perpetuate. But they cannot do this biologically. Left to their own devices, absent some technological intervention like artificial insemination (which requires male and female gametes) it is impossible for them to reproduce.

But some of them want to continue their “heritage”. And the only way to do that is to corrupt children when they are at their most vulnerable: by instilling the kids with twisted notions about sexuality. Pedophiles groom the young with promises of wild bliss absent responsibility, just as they themselves believe they enjoy. They prepare children to be partakers in sin before the children have even a mature understanding of what the acts entail.

Groomers reproduce. In the sickest perversion of what nature has ordained. Groomers do so not out of love but because of their lusts and they don’t give a damn about who is hurt in the process.

I have sought for any more suitable word for the idea other than “groomer” and I cannot come up with any at all.

Mind you, grooming is something so despicable that even many homosexuals find abhorrent. I will never understand the homosexuality temptation, but in recent days more than one friend who happens to be homosexual has shared with me the revulsion that many like them have toward groomers. People such as my friends believe that there are some things which should be entered into with free moral choice about the matter. I can respect that. I can admire that.

Let’s not be afraid at all to associate these pedophiles with the word “groomer”. It should be a suitable synonym in the Oxford English Dictionary, as much as anything else that belongs in that tome. Words mean things. When it comes to describing evil, all the more so.
